This is rtp - "Reversing The Polarity" [formerly WoodysNet] - the personal website of Alan Woodward.
This website is very much a work in progress and is being updated as and when the Author discovers (or writes) new material. The updates section (bottom right) will give the visitor a brief outline of what was last added to the site and when. For a full list of site updates, then visit the Site Update archive page, where all changes can be read in full.
Navigation is via the menu on the top or right with submenus where appropriate.
A project undertaken by the author to construct from scratch one of the computer keyboards popularised by Sci-Fi programmes such as Warehouse 13. There's a brief Steampunk History and links page along with the authors project progress blog as the keyboard takes shape.
This website was to be originally designed as a source of information for The BBC Radiophonic Workshop, it's members and it's work. Although all of this information is around on the Internet (somewhere!) this site is meant to bring it all together into a coherent and readable fashion.
Hopefully, the reader will gain an enjoyable insight into this band of musical and electronic geniuses that worked for this BBC Department from 1958 to 1995 (and on).
I hope you enjoy the information presented on this site and if any of it is copyright without the owner's consent, then I apologise - please contact me and I'll remove it. Most information is © BBC no infringement is intended.
Recent additions to the BBCRW Members Pages are the biographies of the main Radiophonic Workshop members and on the BBCRW Doctor Who Page, a 1 hour radio programme that was dedicated to Delia Derbyshire.
The section is not finished just yet - there are more articles to come - hopefully in the near future!
There is an Author's Blog too - a chance for the author to let off steam, or generally comment about things that he comes across in everyday life. Amusing, funny, sad, witty and angry...all in one place! You may read - and you may comment (however you cannot post new items). Comment freely, however bear in mind that comments are moderated before publishing - if I don't like it - it ain't published!!
There are some audio clips on the website. At the moment, these are fairly restricted to being just Radiophonic Workshop clips (however this may well change!) There's a brief potted history of the Doctor Who theme tune - a fascinating and nowhere near complete subject on the BBC Radiophonic Workshop Doctor Who Page.
Please note that the clips are © their respective owners (mainly BBC) - no infringement is intended.
